FareStart

During my Seattle adventure, I visited a restaurant that I was quite impressed with: FareStart.  This restaurant is actually a training program for homeless and disadvantaged individuals.  It takes these individuals, who have very few opportunities available to them, and trains them with culinary skills; hence giving them opportunities to be a chef once they graduate. Fare Start Menu While open for lunch daily, FareStart gives the students an opportunity to put all that they have learned into practice by preparing meals for the 100's that come through the doors daily.  Once a week, on Thursday nights, a guest chef from another local restaurant is the dinner chef, allowing the students to learn from them as well.  These special Thursday nights book up fast!

While there for lunch, I ate a delicious Rosemary Turkey Sandwich.  I also could not resist a slice of pumpkin cheesecake for dessert.  Unfortunately, I was too excited about eating it and scarfed it down before taking a picture (it was quite pretty)! :)  I would strongly suggest stopping by FareStart if you are ever in the Seattle area - good food and a good cause! :)
