Love Crayon Art... Literally!

I guess I got a little tired or staring at the blank walls in my apartment, so I knew that I needed to do something to add some color!  Out came the crayons left over from my last experiment with crayon art.  Since I used most of the yellows and blues on my last project, I was left with reds, purples, pinks, etc.  After organizing them in the way that I wanted, I grabbed my handy hot glue gun and glued each crayon to the top of the canvas.

I used a box when using the hair dryer to melt the crayons.
It took awhile for the wax to melt, but once it started, it ran quickly.  Eventually they were all melted and it all ran to the bottom of the box - it actually leaked through the cracks in the box.  Thankfully I was on a slate tile floor so as soon as the hot wax hit the cool flooring, it became firm immediately!  I was so relieved that I didn't have a huge mess on my hands!

I waited for a few minutes to ensure that the wax was dried.  I grabbed a little sign that said love that I had found a craft store for a dollar or two and hot glued it onto the waxy canvas.  I had a finished product!
The Finished Product

Now I just need to figure out where I want to hang it! :)
