Finally! An Organized Sink!

I don’t know if any of you have trouble with having too much stuff scattered around the kitchen sink, but I sure do!  Since I have moved into my new apartment, my kitchen is a good deal smaller than I am used to, so I need to have every inch of counter space that is available.  Because of that, all the stuff around the sink does make for quite a dilemma!  It is all stuff that I need on a daily basis, hand soap, dish soap, sponge, etc., but it does leave for a bit of disorganization.

A Messy Sink

Therefore, I knew that I had to do something!  I went to the Dollar Tree and picked up a few goodies: a short, square vase and a flat plate (the kind that you put a candle on).A vase and flate plate

I painted the inside of the vase with a bright and cheery blue acrylic paint.  It took two coats to cover everything completely. Painted Vase

After hot gluing the plate onto the vase, I had myself a nice little sink stand.  I think that it really helped with the clutter.  Everything fits very nicely on the stand.  Since the base is square, it is rather sturdy also.  No more sink clutter and all for the total cost of $2.00 = mission accomplished! :)

  1. What a neat idea! I've been trying to re-purpose and re-use items in similar ways, but I haven't thought much about hot-gluing things together (probably mostly because I only recently bought a hot-glue gun!). Thanks for adding this idea to my head! ;)
